Taiwan army evacuates flood victims
The Taiwanese military has been sent in to help evacuate people trapped by flood waters in remote mountainous areas.
Flooding in southern and central Taiwan has killed at least six people.
About 7,000 people have been evacuated after heavy rains caused flash floods and landslides.
Taiwan's Central Emergency Operation Centre says flooding has caused power cuts and water shortages to tens of thousands of homes.
At the flood's peak, 54 major highways were blocked by water or landslides, and some schools and government offices had to be closed.
Taiwan's Ministry of National Defence has more than 47,000 personnel ready for relief assistance, according to the Taipei Times.
