Internationally renowned Australian children entertainers The Wiggles has announced three of its founding members are hanging up their skivvies.

The group began 21 years ago with Greg Page, Anthony Field, Jeff Fatt and Murray Cook.

It has now been announced there will be some new faces in the infamous big red car.

Greg Page and Murray Cooke will pass on their yellow and red skivvies, while purple Wiggle Jeff Fatt will also get some much needed sleep.

They say the rigours of touring around the world have taken its toll and they want to spend time with their families.

Joining the blue Wiggle, Anthony Field, will be three new faces, Lachlan Gillespie, Simon Pryce and 20-year-old former back-up dancer Emma Watkins, who becomes the new yellow Wiggle.

Both the old and new cast will embark on an international farewell tour culminating in a tour of Australia in November.
