Papua New Guinea's high commissioner to Australia is urging the Australian Government to do more to improve the process for Papua New Guineans seeking visas.
Charles Lepani said he believes the government is looking at the issue.
But he said it must be done urgently to improve bilateral ties between the two countries.
He said Australia's present immigration laws are extremely frustrating.
Mr Lepani said: "Immigration issues, they are galling, if I could put it bluntly and very politely in terms of how Papua New Guineans are treated entering Australia and the difficulties faced by Papua New Guineans."
