Pakistan president visits India
Last Updated:
Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari has arrived in India on the first visit by a Pakistani head of state for seven years.
Mr Zardari will meet the Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, in New Delhi.
His visit has been described as a private pilgrimage.
Next he will travel to an important Muslim shrine.
But analysts say the visit could lead to an improvement in economic ties.
But they say it is unlikely to bring progress on more sensitive issues, including the dispute over the Himalayan Kashmir valley.
