Japan is developing lifeboats that will allow people to live at sea for days after a tsunami.
The tsunami lifeboats will be equipped with food and toilets, and will be strong enough to be able to withstand the impact of floating debris.
It's planned for the lifeboats to be stored at kindergartens, schools and senior citizens' homes.
With room for 20 to 50 people, the designers say evacuees will be able to live at sea onboard the boats for several days after a tsunami.
